Have a caption file in the wrong format? Use the VTT to SRT converter for a destination that needs SubRip, or convert SRT to VTT for a web video track. Caption text and cue times are preserved; conversion notes explain any removed styling.
Need the words for notes or a document? Extract plain text from either format. If captions are consistently early or late, shift the subtitle timestamps by a fixed number of seconds.
Compare VTT and SRT subtitle formatsVideo to Text generates subtitles from speech using Whisper on your device. Choose a recording, set its spoken language, and follow the transcript as it appears. Review words and timing, then download SRT, VTT or TXT.
The first transcription downloads model files. Recordings and transcripts stay on your device, and no account or API key is required. Existing subtitle conversion works without a speech model.

No. Subtitle files, recordings and transcripts are processed in your browser. They are not uploaded to a conversion or transcription server. Your theme preference and downloaded Whisper models may be stored locally; transcripts are not saved between visits.
Format conversion keeps caption text and cue times. Styling, positioning and format-specific metadata are removed, with notes explaining what changed. The time shifter preserves formatting within the original format.
Yes. Video to Text uses Whisper in your browser to generate text and timed SRT or VTT subtitles. The first run downloads a model; your audio or video stays on your device. Review generated words and timing before exporting.
Use Subtitle Time Shifter with a positive offset to make captions appear later, or a negative offset to make them appear earlier. Preview the result before downloading. This works for a consistent delay, rather than gradual timing drift.
