About Subtitle Editor

Use the subtitle editor to proofread captions before publishing. Correct a name across multiple cues, adjust an individual start or end time, or remove a mistaken caption. You can open SRT, VTT, ASS/SSA or SBV and export plain SRT or VTT captions.

What to expect

  • Times are edited in seconds, with millisecond precision. Invalid times or empty captions block export.
  • Find and replace uses literal, case-sensitive text. It does not run regular expressions or rewrite other words.
  • Overlapping captions are preserved; check them in your player. Styles and positioning are not included in edited exports.
  • Edits stay in this tab. Download your result before leaving; there is no automatic cloud save.

Frequently asked questions

Can I edit a name everywhere?

Yes. Find and replace applies a literal, case-sensitive replacement to all subtitle text, including captions on other pages. Preview the output before downloading.

Are edits saved automatically?

No. Your working subtitles live in the current tab. Export and download the file before refreshing or leaving.

Does this edit the video itself?

No. The editor changes a separate subtitle file. It does not burn text into video or re-encode your recording.
