Who this policy covers
This policy covers SubtitleDock and its subtitle tools. References to “we” mean the operator of SubtitleDock, who can be contacted at turbo76.work@gmail.com for privacy questions and requests.
Your files and transcripts
Subtitle files, audio, video and generated transcripts are processed locally in your browser. Our tools do not upload their contents to a conversion server or AI service, and we do not receive those contents for model training.
Working files and edits stay in the current page’s memory. The app does not save a transcript history or provide cloud backups. Download your results before leaving or refreshing. Files you download remain on your device until you remove them.
If you choose to send a file to us by email, it is part of your correspondence instead. That is separate from processing it in a tool.
Browser storage and cookies
We store your light or dark theme preference in your browser’s local storage. Your browser may also cache website assets and downloaded transcription models so it can reuse them.
The current application does not include advertising cookies, analytics trackers or session recording. Local theme storage and model caching serve the functions above; they do not store your subtitle text as a saved project.
You can clear this site’s data through your browser settings. This resets the theme and can remove cached models, so another download may be needed. It does not delete files you have already saved to your device.
Website requests and model downloads
Local file processing still involves network requests to load the website. Hosting and content-delivery services may process technical request information, such as your IP address, browser information, requested resource and request time, to deliver and secure those requests.
When you start transcription, your browser downloads the selected model and related files from Hugging Face and its delivery services if needed. These services receive the technical information necessary for those download requests, not your recording or transcript. Subtitle conversion and editing do not require a speech-model download.
These services may operate in countries other than your own and have their own privacy practices. See Hugging Face’s privacy policy. For a version of this site hosted on Vercel, see Vercel’s privacy notice. Provider retention and infrastructure logs are separate from the temporary files in your browser.
When you email us
We receive your email address, the name your email service supplies, and any message or attachments you choose to send. We use this information to answer your request, investigate a reported issue and follow up with you. Providing it is optional, but without a reply address we cannot respond.
Our contact inbox uses Gmail, so email is also handled by Google and your own email provider. See Google’s privacy policy. Please send only the information needed to explain the issue; a redacted example is usually enough.
Support correspondence is retained for as long as needed to resolve and follow up on the request, handle related disputes or meet applicable legal obligations. We do not use support messages for advertising. Where a legal basis is required, responding to requests and maintaining a secure, functioning service are our legitimate interests; we also process information when necessary to meet legal obligations.
Your choices and requests
You can use the tools without an account or an email address. You control which files to open, whether to start a model download and when to clear browser storage.
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of personal information we hold, or to restrict its use. You may also object to processing based on legitimate interests. Email turbo76.work@gmail.com to make a request. We may need enough information to verify that the request concerns your data.
We cannot retrieve or delete recordings or transcripts that exist only on your device. You may also raise a concern with your local data protection authority where that right applies.
